Barcelona prepares for elections, Joan Laporta resigns as Catalan president

Joan Laporta will resign from the position of President of Barcelona on Monday, February 9. Laporta has made this statement in order to make it possible for him to run for re-election in the vote scheduled for March 15, 2026.

In his speech, he emphasized that this period is important for the future of the club, while welcoming candidacies such as Victor Font, Marc Ciria, Xavi Vilajoana and Joan Camprubi Montal.

Laporta also spoke about the future. If he wins the elections, the first thing he will do is renew coach Flik. As we enter February, Barcelona remains one of the strongest teams in Europe and is still in the race for four titles.
