Every beginning has an end, the Albanian striker says "enough" to

Admir Mehmedi has decided to retire from football at the age of 32, where he was recently part of the Antalyaspor team in Turkey.

In his long career, the Albanian attacker who has represented Switzerland in the international arena, has stood out with different teams such as Wolfsburg, Leverkusen, Freiburg, Dynamo Kyiv, Zurich or Winterthur.

" Dear friends and football fans. Last week I accompanied my son to first grade and my daughter to kindergarten, an event that brought me great joy. Together with my family, I made the decision to return to Switzerland some time ago.

Today, however, I would like to officially announce the end of my active football career. Over the last few weeks and months, after intensive discussions with my family and my family circle, I have felt that it is time to finally hang up my football boots, rather than allow my career to end half-heartedly.

Looking back on a wonderful career. FC Vintertur and FC Zürich have shaped me. After that I had the privilege of playing 76 matches for Antalyaspor and many professional matches for clubs such as Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Dinamo Kiev, SC Freiburg, VfL Wolfsburg and the Swiss national team.

Thanks to all the coaches, teammates, fans and officials who supported and accompanied me throughout my career.

After completing my Sports Management degree, I plan to start coaching training soon. I can't wait to see some of you on the football field, maybe soon - under any circumstances ," writes Mehmed.
