The President of the Albanian Football Federation, Armand Duka, participated in the gala event organized by FIFA at Trump Tower in New York, on the eve of the World Cup final between Argentina and Spain that will take place on July 19 at 9:00 PM in New York.
The ceremony celebrating the success of the greatest World Cup in history was attended by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, United States President Donald Trump, members of the FIFA Council, heads of federations from around the world, as well as well-known figures in international football.
During the event, the head of the Albanian Football Association had a meeting and conversation with US President Donald Trump, while also meeting with senior FIFA leaders and representatives of various federations, exchanging ideas on the development of football and the success of organizing the 2026 World Cup.
" At 'Trump Tower', New York, to honor and celebrate the success of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a historic edition, organized for the first time by three countries: the United States of America, Canada and Mexico. An extraordinary journey, from vision to realization of a tournament that proved once again a great truth: Football unites the world ," writes Duka.
In his speech, FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the 2026 World Cup as the most successful edition ever held.
" This World Cup has exceeded all expectations. It is not only the greatest World Cup of all time, but also the greatest human, social and cultural event that humanity has ever seen ," said FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
US President Donald Trump also gave the tour high praise.
" This has been a tournament like no other, with extraordinary competition and unforgettable moments that have brought the world together. It is the most successful sporting event in history ," declared US President Donald Trump.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup set new standards in world football. According to FIFA data, over 6.6 million fans attended matches in stadiums, while facilities were filled to an average of 99.7% of capacity, making this the most attended World Cup ever.
The tournament was organized for the first time by three countries – the USA, Canada and Mexico – as well as with the new format of 48 national teams, an innovation that marked a new chapter in the history of the World Cup.
Armand Duka's participation in this activity confirms the active role of the Albanian Football Federation in the international arena and its consolidated relations with FIFA, at a time when Albania is gaining more and more recognition as an organizer of important sporting activities.
