An episode rarely seen in the world of football occurred in the Russian Cup match between Zenit and Akhmat Grozny.
The protagonist was Tunisian defender Nader Ghandri, who in the 73rd minute scored the goal that gave hope to his team, even though the match ended 2-1 for Zenit.
In extra time, the referee showed Ghandri a red card. As he left the field for the dressing rooms, he chose to give his number 75 shirt to a fan on the stadium steps. But the situation took an unexpected turn: after the intervention of VAR, the red card was overturned and turned into a yellow.
This created a surreal scene. Ghandri was forced to take his shirt back from the fan in order to return to the field and see the game through to the end. After the match, the defender showed sportsmanship by giving the shirt back to the same fan, this time without being hindered by technology.
This unique episode immediately entered the history of the Russian Cup as one of the most unusual moments of modern football.
