Europa and Conference League/ Freiburg humiliates Celta Vigo in the return leg, Shakhtar Donetsk qualifies for the semifinals

Freiburg have confirmed expectations by securing a place in the Europa League semi-finals. The German team eliminated Celta Vigo with a 3-1 victory in the second leg, closing the two legs with an aggregate score of 6-1.

After a 3-0 first-leg victory, Freiburg took control of the match in the first half. Igor Matanović opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, dashing any hopes of a comeback for the Spanish side. Just a few minutes later, Suzuki doubled the lead, making it 2-0 before half-time.

In the second half, the German team continued with the same pace and scored the third goal, again with Suzuki, who completed his double. Celta Vigo managed to score the consolation goal in extra time with Suedberg, but without changing the fate of the challenge.

In the Conference League, Shakhtar Donetsk are the first team to secure qualification for the semi-finals. The Ukrainians eliminated AZ Alkmaar, having won 3-0 in the first leg and drawn 2-2 in the second leg.
