
International transfers in professional and amateur football for boys and girls for 2025 reached a historic record, 86,158.
This is what results from the latest report published by FIFA, the "Global Transfer Report", according to which $13.08 billion was spent on professional boys' football, the highest figure ever recorded.
Girls' football also continues to grow with 2,440 transfers, recording an improvement of 6.3% and a total expenditure of $28.6 million, a figure that is 80% higher compared to 2024. For the first time, club spending on player transfers has exceeded the $10 billion mark, 13.11 billion setting a new record. This is a figure that is 50% higher compared to 2024 and 35.6% higher than the previous record set in 2023.
In professional men's football, English clubs are confirmed champions in both spending and revenue with $3.82 billion in outbound transfers and $1.77 billion in outbound transfers. Clubs have continued to invest in professional women's football, with a total of 756 clubs involved in international transfers, an increase of 8.3%, and of these, 135 clubs invested in at least 1 inbound transfer and 155 clubs received transfer fees on outbound transfers.
