The World Indoor Athletics Championships are taking place in Poland, where Albania is represented by athlete Franko Burraj. The latter competed today in the fifth heat of the 400-meter discipline.
Burraj came in third in his heat, recording a time of 46”57', a result that constitutes a new national record for this discipline. His performance was sufficient to secure qualification for the semi-finals.
According to the competition regulations, the first two places in each heat, as well as the four fastest times from the other athletes, qualified for the semifinals. The athlete from Shkodran managed to qualify precisely through this criterion, ranking among the best times.
Burraj is expected to return to the track again tonight to compete in the semifinals, where he aims for another positive performance.
His performance in this competition is considered successful, confirming the Albanian athlete's continuous progress in this discipline and the ambition to further improve his results in the future.
