Bodo/Glimt continues to be confirmed as the most beautiful surprise of this season in the Champions League. After successes against Manchester City and Atletico Madrid in the previous stage, the Norwegian team has taken another important step, defeating Inter 3-1 in the first match of the “play-off” stage.
The Norwegians dominate Inter in the second half
The match was broken in the 20th minute, after a model action by the home team. Kasper Høg provided a spectacular assist with a feint, while Sondre Fet sent the ball into the net for the advantage of Bodo/Glimt.
Inter responded in the 30th minute. Francesco Pio Esposito took advantage of a cross from Nicolo Barella in the area, with the home defense failing to properly clear the ball. After a VAR review, the goal for the Nerazzurri was confirmed as legal and the first half ended in a 1-1 draw.
In the second half, the Norwegian team took control of the game. In the 60th minute, after a quick action and combination between Kasper Høg and Jens Petter Hauge, the latter restored the advantage for the home team. Just three minutes later, Høg crowned his performance with the third goal, sealing the final score 3-1 in favor of Bodo/Glimt.
Six-goal spectacle in Belgium
A 3-3 draw was recorded in Belgium between Club Brugge and Atletico Madrid, in a challenge with upheavals and emotions until the end.
Atletico took the lead in the 8th minute, with Julian Alvarez converting from the penalty spot after a handball by an opposing player inside the area. In first-half stoppage time, Ademola Lukman doubled the lead after a cross from Juan Alvarez's corner.
In the second half, the Belgians responded. Rafael Oniedika narrowed the gap in the 52nd minute after a corner kick and a scuffle in the area. Eight minutes later, Nicolo Tresoldi equalized the score at 2-2 after an assist from Diakon.
In the 79th minute, an own goal by Joel Ordonnéz, following a cross from Marcos Llorente, gave the Spanish team the advantage again. However, at the end of normal time, Christos Collis scored the equalizer for Club Brugge, fixing the final score at 3-3.
Leverkusen wins in Piraeus
In another match, Bayer Leverkusen achieved an important 0-2 victory in the away match against Olympiacos in Piraeus. The first half ended goalless, while the protagonist of the match was Patrik Schick, who scored twice within three minutes, in the 60th and 63rd minutes, ensuring success for the German team.
