The coach of the Balkans, Ilir Daja, expressed his satisfaction with the draw against Astana, but admitted that his team deserved more than one point in the match played in Kazakhstan. He said that the Balkans would have won this match if they had used the created opportunities.
" I believe we deserved more because we controlled the ball more, we dictated the game in the largest percentage. We had our chances that if we had scored we would have won the game. We played a very good game, because the almost 5 hour time difference with Kosovo is sensitive, but we did not investigate this. We played an even better game than in Pristina, even though we faced a physically and tactically strong team.
I am also satisfied with the draw even though a win would be a better result. The match went according to plan. In defense we played very well because we studied the opponent well, but in the last 20 meters we could have made better decisions. We equaled our points record from last edition.
We are good and we must continue on this path because we will play until the end for our chances to pass the group. We did not have the objective of passing the group, but this expectation has increased after the victory with Dinamo Zagreb. We will continue to contribute to best present the football of the Kosovo championship and then we will count the points at the end of the group stage" , said Daja to "ArtMotion".
