On Friday, BILD and Sky reported that the German international has rejected an offer from FC Bayern. His contract runs until the end of June. One thing is clear: Bayern Munich are not willing to improve on their current offer.
"Well, as far as I know, it's not completely over yet. I've heard that too. Of course I'll have the opportunity to talk to him. We wanted to keep him. That's quite clear. We made a reasonable and attractive offer, in our opinion. If he accepts it, we'll be happy. If not, then that's his decision. But then life goes on," said Herbert Hainer, the president of the Bavarian giants.
But one thing is clear: Bayern are still willing to talk about extending the contract at the end.
Sporting director Max Eberl commented on the Sane case after the champions' 4-0 win over Hoffenheim. "Leroy said today that he does not want to accept this offer in this form. This is legitimate," Eberl said.
He added: "The good thing about this situation is that there is no animosity. I feel that Leroy would like to stay. Now we will see what happens in the coming days."
During the week, Sane caused quite a stir due to his trip to Monaco. In the principality, Sane was invited to a charity dinner organized by the Thilo Kehrer foundation (former Schalke star and former German national team player) at the luxurious La Môme restaurant on the port.
