Arbër Hoxha held his first training session with Dinamo Zagreb today, while he is expected to make his debut on Saturday in a friendly match. The Croatian team is preparing in Rovinj, where today it was tested against Triglav, which it won 7-0. Hoxha was not activated in this match.
The winger gave an interview to the Croatian website "germanijak" and announced his move to Albania. He has several appearances for Kosovo in friendlies, while last year he was provided with an Albanian passport.
" Kosovo has never invited me. Albania called me and gave me my passport. I believe that soon I will play for Albania. I hope I will go to the European Championship and play against Croatia ," Hoxha told the Croatian website.
The 25-year-old from Dinamo Zagreb was transferred from Slaven Belupo, another Croatian team, on Tuesday. He has made three appearances for Kosovo, in friendly matches. He played against Sweden on January 12, 2020 and then against Guinea and Gambia in June 2021. Since then, he has not been invited by "Dardans".
So he never won the real case and now he can go to Albania. In fact, the competition in Albania is very big, while the transfer of Hoxha to the Reds and Blacks would be another loss for the representative of Kosovo. Hoxha also played for Lokomotiva in Croatia, but his main goal was Dinamo.
" From the first day when I came to Croatia, my only desire was Dinamo and that day came. This was my dream and goal. I'm so happy to have joined the team, I still can't believe I'm here. I am maximally focused on what is in front of me. Everyone knows what Dinamo means to Croatia and what the goals are - we want to win every game ", said Hoxha.
He has shown that he had many offers, but that he was determined to move to Dinamo Zagreb, arguably the most successful team in Croatia.
Hoxha hinted that he is not afraid of competition, while he thanked Slaven Belupo. He has emphasized that his strong side is the one-on-one game and dribbling. It was the coach of Dinamo Zagreb, Sergej Jakirovic, who insisted on the transfer of Hoxha.
" He helped me a lot, he wanted to bring me, he told me this and it was important to me. I want to repay him with a match on the field. Everyone has received me very well, everything is at a high level. Dinamo is full of stars and I feel good among them ", continued Hoxha.
Hoxha believes that Dinamo will win the title of champion in Croatia, although it is currently behind Hajduk, which was also one of the teams interested in the Kosovar.
" I repeat, all the time I thought only about Dinamo. I didn't think about anything else, about any other club. And now I'm here ", concluded Arbër Hoxha.
