Diogo Zhota's passing, Club World Cup quarterfinals begin with a minute of silence

Liverpool's 28-year-old Portuguese footballer Diogo Zhota died on Thursday morning in a road accident in the province of Zamora in Spain.

The incident occurred at kilometer 65 of the A-52 highway, near the municipality of Palacios de Sanabria. Zhota's car, who was traveling with his brother Andre Silva, went off the road and burst into flames.

FIFA has decided that a minute's silence will be held at the quarter-final matches of the Club World Cup. The matches are scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
