The "Milano-Cortina 2026" Olympic Games begin, the opening ceremony takes place at the San Siro stadium, Albania and Kosovo come together for the opening ceremony of 'Milano Cortina 2026'

Although some of the sporting events have been going on for two days, the 25th edition of the "Milano-Cortina 2026" Winter Olympic Games, an event taking place in Italy, officially began on Friday evening.

The largest sporting event in the snow disciplines, which is expected to be very interesting and exciting, with thousands of athletes competing for the Olympic gold medal. An event where Albania is also represented with its objectives.

The opening ceremony is taking place at the San Siro stadium in Milan, where over 70,000 spectators are present. After the spectacle that the organizers will present, the parade of participating athletes will take place.

The two Olympic teams of Albania and Kosovo have paraded together at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games in Cortina D'Ampezzo.

In this Olympics, our country will be represented by 4 athletes: They are: Lara Colturi, Samire Dauti, Lisa Brunga and Denis Xhepa, all in alpine skiing competitions. Athletes who have managed to secure qualification for the Olympics thanks to their scores and performances in recent competitions.

The competitions for Albanian athletes will take place between February 11 and 18, in the Slalom and Giant Slalom disciplines, in Bormio and Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Competition dates:

February 11:  Denni Xhepa will be in the Giant Slalom race starting at 11:30 in Bormio.

February 14:  Denni Xhepa participates in the Slalom discipline that starts at 11:30 in Bormio.

February 15:  Lara Colturi and Semire Dauti will participate in the Giant Slalom discipline at 10:00 and the second run at 13:30 (if they qualify) in Cortina D'Ampezzo.

February 16:  Denni Xhepa participates in the Slalom discipline at 10:00 in Bormio.

February 18:  Lara Colturi, Lisa Brunga and Semire Dauti will participate in the Slalom discipline at 10 am and 1:30 pm second run (if they qualify) in Cortina D'Ampezzo.

Meanwhile, Kosovo will once again be part of the Winter Olympic Games, represented by two skiers, Drin Kokaj and Kiana Kryeziu.

Kokaj will make his Olympic debut, while for Kryeziu this will be her second appearance at the Olympic Games, as she has also represented Kosovo in "Beijing 2022".

The dates that Kosovo skiers will perform will be February 12, 15, 16 and 18.

This appearance will be Kosovo's third at the Winter Olympics, where both athletes will compete in the alpine skiing discipline.
