Vedat Muriqi continues his excellent form in La Liga, being the protagonist for Mallorca in the transfer against Osasuna. The Kosovar striker scored two goals, but his team failed to maintain the advantage, as the match valid for the 27th week ended in a 2-2 draw.
Mallorca took the lead in the 35th minute, after a serious mistake by the home goalkeeper, who did not understand his defender and allowed the visitors to score. The first half ended with the score 0-1 in favor of Mallorca.
In the 60th minute, Vedat Muriqi again showed his attacking prowess, doubling his tally after an assist from Serxhi Darder and giving his team a secure lead.
The situation on the pitch changed in the 73rd minute, when Mallorca were one man down. Jan Virgil, who had been introduced just 10 minutes earlier, was sent off for a harsh challenge on an opponent.
In the 82nd minute, Osasuna was also reduced to 10 players, after Raul Garcia was sent off for a backheel tackle on a Mallorca player.
However, just when it seemed that Mallorca was on the verge of victory, the home team reacted towards the end of the match. Kike Barja reduced the gap in the 89th minute, while in the fourth minute of extra time veteran Ante Budimir equalized the scores at 2-2.
After this result, Mallorca remains in 18th place in the La Liga standings with 25 points, continuing to be in serious danger of relegation. Meanwhile, Osasuna is positioned in 10th place in the classification.
