The President of the Albanian Football Federation, Armand Duka, spoke at the presentation of the new coach of the national football team, Rolando Maran. Duka began by thanking Sylvinho for having Maran by his side, while also indicating the objective of qualifying for Euro 2028.
"Today is an important day for the national team. I want to thank Sylvion and his staff, we have laughed and cried together. In football there are several cycles. In an understanding with Sylvion and his staff we have agreed to close this chapter and open a new cycle, not with a young coach, but with experience like Rolando Maran.
Our objectives remain clear, we have reached a standard. Maran is a well-known name in the world of football, he has a rich CV in Serie A and B in Italy. I am convinced that we will do well in the Nation League and in the qualifiers.
The contract? This is a thoughtful and consulted choice. We talked to several alternatives, it is not ethical to tell them. Even Maran knows. The contract was signed only 30 minutes before the presentation. Maran signed without reading it, I hope there are no problems (laughs). The contract is until 2028, we want first place in the Nations League and to qualify for Euro 2028.
"The economic aspect? Even if we had more money, we would have made the same choice," said Duka.
