In the 20th week of the Italian championship, Genoa managed to get three points by defeating Parma 1-0. The match was strong and both teams were more careful to defend, which resulted in a scoreless 45 minutes and thus ending the first half 0-0.
Even the second half would be a "chess game", but in the 65th minute, an action started by Miretti and the midfielder's brilliant pass brought Frendrup into a striking position. The latter unleashed an unassuming right, but the deflection from the defense caused the trajectory of the ball to take the goalkeeper offside and the ball to stop in the net. The 1-0 scoreline would remain unchanged for the remainder of the match and Genoa would pick up an all-important three points.
With this victory, Genoa is in the quota of 23 points and ranks in 11th position, leaving Parma in 17th place with 19 points.
