Shkruar nga PamfletiThe draw for the Champions League play-offs will take place today at 12:00 at UEFA headquarters in Nyon. After eight matches of the league stage, the 16 teams ranked from 9th to 24th will face each other (9th or 10th place against teams ranked 23rd or 24th, etc.).
The knockout stages are determined by a draw conducted in accordance with the following principles:
a. The rival pairs are selected based on their positions at the end of the league stage to form four ranked pairs (clubs in positions 9 and 10, 11 and 12, 13 and 14, and 15 and 16) and four unranked pairs (positions 17 and 18, 19 and 20, 21 and 22, and 23 and 24).
b. The clubs in each ranked pair are drawn in the knockout phase against the clubs in each unranked pair: clubs 9 or 10 against clubs 23 or 24, clubs 11 or 12 against clubs 21 or 22, clubs 13 or 14 against clubs 19 or 20, and clubs 15 or 16 against clubs 17 or 18.
Teams from the same country and teams that have played each other in the league stage can face each other in this phase. The knockout round will consist of two matches, with the first legs scheduled for 17 and 18 February, and the return legs a week later, on 24 and 25 February.

Real Madrid will have a potential rival between Benfica and Bodo/Glimt, as will Inter. The fact is that Jose Mourinho and his Benfica will face either Inter or Real Madrid, two teams where he has won everything.
If Real Madrid find Benfica, the 'Galacticos' will have to 'avenge' for the last 4-2 defeat in Portugal that left them out of the 1/8 stage. If Inter and Real Madrid pass this stage, they will then face one of Manchester City or Sporting Lisbon.
