Stiven Shpendi is being confirmed as one of the most promising Albanian talents in Italian football. The Empoli striker had a very positive season in Serie B, where he scored 15 goals and was ranked among the top scorers of the championship.
His good performances have not only increased expectations for an invitation from the Albanian National Team, but also the interest of Serie A clubs. Empoli President Fabricio Corsi has publicly admitted that Shpend could be a target for Italian elite teams during the summer transfer window.
In a recent interview, Korsi praised the development of the Albanian striker and did not rule out the possibility of a transfer, if the right economic conditions arise.
" Shpendi is already a decisive player and there is still a lot of room for improvement. I believe there could be concrete interest from Serie A right now. We would like to keep him for another season, but everything also depends on the economic aspect, which is essential for us ," declared the Empoli president.
Korsi also highlighted the economic model on which the club operates, underlining the importance of investing in young players and selling them to guarantee financial stability.
"We play football without a billionaire owner. We've been doing it this way for 30 years. We invest in young people, we develop them and then we sell them ," he added.
The Italian president's statements imply that Shpendi's future could be in Serie A, if satisfactory offers arrive for Empoli during the summer.
