Barcelona is expected to lose talented midfielder Dro Fernandez, who will leave the club during this transfer window.
The 18-year-old Spanish-Filipino midfielder had begun to make significant progress with Barcelona's first team this season, but has decided to continue his career outside the Camp Nou.
According to reports from Sport and Mundo Deportivo, Dro will leave the club in January, after informing the board that he will activate his release clause worth 6 million euros.
Fernandez joined Barcelona's academy three years ago and, although the Catalans will benefit financially from this transfer, his departure is also considered an important sporting loss for the club's future.
He had begun training with the first team during the pre-season, while coach Hansi Flick was impressed enough to include him in the pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea.
Of all the La Masia talents who participated in this tournament, Dro was the player who accumulated the most minutes, even managing to score a goal.
Flick had a constant interest in giving space to the young midfielder and, although he has spent more time with the U19 team than with Barça Atlètic, he has recorded a total of 5 appearances for the first team this season.
These appearances also include two matches as a starter against Olympiakos and Real Sociedad, where he also provided an assist in the first match.
Sporting director Deco had attempted to renew his contract, which expires in just 18 months, but the interest of several clubs in activating the release clause has made it impossible to reach an agreement.
Although Dro Fernandez has not yet decided which offer he will accept, he has already let Barcelona know that he will leave during this transfer window.
