An unprecedented event occurred today in Pogradec, after a meeting of the Municipal Council ended in a physical clash. A group of citizens reacted strongly to a decision aimed at privatizing pastures in the village of Çërrava, which will be given for photovoltaic parks.
At the end of the meeting, a councilor approached the residents and attacked them, which provoked the reaction of Kevi Muçllari, 27, where there was a physical confrontation. But after the incident he was arrested. This has led a group of residents to gather in front of the Pogradec Police Station in protest.
" The arrest made for citizen Kevi Muçllari is not in accordance with the law, first of all due to the fact that it was not a hit; there was a mutual delay. Kevi did not provoke the dispute or conflict, as far as we can call it a conflict, and we are not in the conditions of a classic hit due to duty.
The second element has to do with the fact that the dispute did not arise over who one councilor voted for or who another councilor voted for, despite the opposition that Kevi and all the other residents had. The dispute arose at the moment when Kevi was leaving and there was a reaction from other people, so it arose after the voting had ended.
From this perspective, I don't see it as being due to duty. It's a mutual postponement that arose in the situation, because they were caught in a fight. I think we are not in the conditions of postponement due to duty and it is not Kevi Muçllari who provoked this situation. Normally, all parties involved should be accompanied and the relevant statements should be taken from them.
"I do not know this fact. We will follow the procedure by asking the prosecution to consider this arrest illegal, and if it does not consider it illegal, we will then ask the court to evaluate it and not to impose any security measures against him ," said Muçllari's lawyer, Endri Çela.
