Journalist Klodiana Lala spoke about the operation between SPAK and the Italian anti-mafia, which hit a drug trafficking group based in Durrës.
Lala said that the Troplini group is historically known for drug trafficking and is a powerful group, but added that the person presumed by the Italians to be the leader of the group, Xhevdet Troplini, has not been charged and is today in his home without security measures.
"The Troplini group is historically known for trafficking heroin at first and then cocaine. Xhevdet Troplini was arrested, served time in prison and released. In 2005, one million euros in cash was found on him. Troplini is now in his own home, completely free. He only has ties to his nephews and his social and family circle. He personally has no official charges, although he has been questioned about some of the most serious criminal events in Durrës.
