Security expert Shemsi Prençi has spoken harshly about the recent SPAK operation against call centers in Tirana, describing it not as a police failure, but as a sabotaged strike from within, due to political connections and high interests involved. In “Të Pashoq”, Prençi mentioned the sensational case of Amant Josifi, one of the most talked about names for connections with abusive call centers.
-How do you see the SPAK operation against call centers in the heart of Tirana? It is almost universally accepted that it was exposed by... by the State Police.
Shemsi Prençi: Look, the problem of call centers is a problem that exceeds the competence of the police.
-What does that mean?
Shemsi Prençi: Which means that... the Albanian government is interested in the call centers functioning. For me. The fact that for over 5-6 years the call center system in Albania has shocked the Western world and the state government, our government, has not responded with a national action where the entire system of law enforcement bodies is engaged, starting from the State Intelligence Service, the State Police, the Financial Intelligence Agency, Taxes and all... so that we do not forget anyone. And this task force, or this shaking, or this shaking, is done either by the President of the Republic, or the Prime Minister of Albania. But the Prime Minister of Albania must give the indication to gather, even the State Intelligence Service.
But the fact that call centers in Albania, especially in Tirana, operate in state buildings... do our government officials not know that these call centers are active? If we bill the state police, only the state police, we are wrong. There are elements within the state police who receive monthly salaries, they know the phenomenon, they receive monthly salaries. They accepted this solution due to the fact that they are not good at striking, because it happened that they struck and in the end the heads of the organization who deal with the management of the call centers were not affected. The Albanian state came to Amant Josifi's defense, expelled him from Albania when he broke out three or four years ago, because Amant Josifi was a close associate of the prime minister's brother. So in this regard, who is that police officer who would even go out of his way to arrest the prime minister's brother's close friend.
