The Italian Minister of Defense, Gudio Crosetto, was present at the inauguration of the air base in Kuçovo, where he said that Albania is a solid pillar and inalienable column of the West.
According to him, at a time which is characterized by numerous challenges, Italy and Albania will have "other cooperation horizons".
Among other things, Crosetto said that the support between the two countries also appears through joint exercises.
"A turning point for the entire Western Balkan region. Our presence here proves Italy's support for Albania. Albania's path to democracy started years ago, which led to its membership in the Council of Europe and NATO. Albania is a solid pillar and inalienable pillar of the West and Italy has strongly supported the EU membership and shares the pleasure of getting the green day for the membership. It is a deep and long-lasting clear sign of strong cooperation in any field. A mutual support of ours that appears through joint training, I like to remember the programs in the field of training that bring dialogue and capacities that make professional training possible. The inauguration of the air base in Kuçova is not only an arrival point but a starting point for the unfolding of professional defenders. In a time that is characterized by challenges, it is a symbol to face current and future challenges, I am sure that we will have other cooperation horizons between Albania and Italy", said the Italian minister.
