"Berisha has a Stalinist mentality", analyst: Where the new parties

Analyst Namir Lapardhaja said that Berisha has a Stalinist mindset with his approaches to political arguments in Albania and no new groups or figures are expected to come out against him.

He said that it is unthinkable for Berisha to leave the DP to respect the very statute he voted for in the party's Assembly as "Neni Basha", after losing the May 11 elections.

The analyst stated that the new parties lost their chance in the elections, which was the unification that would have given them three times the number of mandates, while he sees Justice and SPAK as the only hope for the country and its citizens, to continue the work they have begun.

"Berisha and the DP faced after May 11 what they cooked up during the campaign and before it, and the day of facing the truth and defeat would come. They promised to overthrow Rama and they couldn't do it, they promised a strong united opposition, they couldn't do it, they promised a strong and winning DP, they couldn't do it. They are finding excuses and alibis, not that there weren't any problems, but they had promised that they wouldn't allow them and they wouldn't happen. So the DP didn't prevent them and now they are looking for excuses. These elections of May 11, 2025 are better than those of 2021. But on the other hand, since 2021 and until now, Berisha and his people have not won a single race. Even compared to Basha's results, they came out worse than he did in 2021, fewer votes and mandates, they are more hopeless than ever. I'm not saying that there were no problems, complaints, reports, but these "They failed to come out as the masters of the country and the DP, even though they promised to, even using it as a slogan. Basha did not use these excuses that they are making either. We saw that in 2021, as in the case of Durrës, there were problems with the MP placed on the list, while this time there are only claims," Lapardhaja told "Report TV".

Lapardhaja said that Berisha has a Stalinist mentality and he is the real problem of the DP.

"Berisha is the problem of the DP. He himself understands that he is the problem, even the group of deputies and the structures know that he is the problem, but they shrug their shoulders and say 'there is nothing we can do'. The pre-political and Stalinist ways make these groups afraid, we even saw before the elections the deputies who were threatening. There are no new figures in the DP parliamentary group. While outside of it I think they are weightless. On the other hand, let's not forget the situation of fear that exists there, even those who were insulted and accused of murder went to Berisha and immediately after their approach the charges were dropped or they were amnestied from all other things. I don't think there will be a serious group within the DP to retire Berisha. Berisha has it like that, once he accuses SPAK, once the groups, today he accused the new parties. He changes his approach and arguments every day. He takes a Stalinist approach when he accuses the new parties, or a labor approach, "and that alone is enough for him not to be where he is," he continued.

Regarding the accusations that the leader of the Democratic Party made today against new parties, the analyst explained that this argument does not hold up and that Berisha changes his approach from day to day on different issues, becoming unpredictable.

"Those are votes against Rama's government, but also against Berisha at the head of the DP. If you knew they had weight and were getting votes for deputies, you have a responsibility, a permanent duty to make efforts for unity. Even though they had declared that they were not going to Berisha, as they risked not getting enough votes. The only way to create a clear message to the Albanian public was to unite a common front of new parties. Because they had to offer Albanians hope, what the citizens are also looking for. And if they had united, they would have produced at least 3 times the mandates they received", added Lapardhaja.

He emphasized that what citizens expect more from than politics is precisely justice and SPAK.

"We will see if SPAK will reach Rama and his family members, since a large part of the officials and ministers are under investigation or verification by SPAK and justice. But if the control of the powers increases, I think the arrogance and problems will be more numerous. Of interest and importance is what is expected from SPAK, if the Prosecution will go to the end of the cases, because the rest is a first film. This is for the good of the citizens, the country, but also the government. So that they fear justice, since it also serves the state budget and fewer problems ," he concluded.
