Muslim believers celebrate today one of the most significant days of the Islamic calendar, Eid al-Adha.
The Kurban Bayram prayer in Tirana was performed in Skënderbej Square.
The head of the Albanian Muslim Community, Bujar Spahiu, addressed all Albanians, stressing that Kurban Bayram is a celebration of sacrifice.
"I pray to God that this Eid serves as an internal reflection for every person. Let's become stronger in faith towards God, more loving and in solidarity with each other. Let's extend a helping hand to those who need it most. I pray to God that peace and prosperity prevail among peoples in the world", said Spahiu.
He also had a message about the situation in the north of Kosovo, for which he said that the Albanian brothers must find the patience to face this situation and the provocations from the Serbian side.
"I pray to God that our brothers and sisters in Kosovo find the patience and prudence to face the recent situations of tensions and provocations in the North of Kosovo. I pray to God that our nation will prosper in every aspect. Once again, I want to wish every Albanian family a very happy Eid al-Adha. Happy," concluded Spahiu.
The activity started at 05:30 in the morning and will last until 07:30.
After the end of the Kurban Bayram prayer, the public space will be released and the "Skënderbej" square will return to normal activity to be used by the citizens.
