Journalist Poli Hoxha has revealed the behind-the-scenes developments within the Democratic Party. He stated that some Democratic MPs are asking for favors from Prime Minister Rama and are getting the solution faster than a Socialist.
"Now we have a situation and we are seeing groups emerging. These groups are fighting over who will be in Berisha's first or second district. They are asking, because most of the deputies in Berisha's first district, if they send an SMS to the government about a job, they get a solution and a response faster than a socialist. But if a socialist asks, it might be more difficult," Hoxha said on A2 CNN.
According to him, the groups that are appearing from time to time in the DP are not real political movements, but attempts to gain positions.
"These groups emerge from time to time when the position of the president is in doubt. After the May 11 elections, a campaign began to request an analysis of the implementation of the status of the Basha article, but this was at the stage when positions in the party were being divided," he said.
Journalist Hoxha raised concerns that most local branches of the DP are inactive.
"In 90% of the branches, offices are not open. There is no DP in Korça, Durrës and Shijak. Who is responsible for this? How many of the leaders have gone to Fier, Elbasan or Berat?" he stressed.
According to Hoxha, the crisis in the DP cannot be resolved without clarifying Sali Berisha's position after being declared "non grata".
"This issue in the DP will be resolved when it is resolved why it started. Is there a time machine to go back to 2021? There was enthusiasm, there was hope. This will only be resolved when the Berisha issue is resolved. The entire party has been involved in this process after Mr. Berisha was declared non grata. If this issue is not resolved, the DP issue will not be resolved and so it will languish ," the journalist concluded.
