Analyst Mentor Nazarko spoke about the summons of Sali Berisha by SPAK, as part of the investigations for January 21.
He said that the former prime minister must tell the truth about this serious event before the courts. Nazarko also said that another issue that SPAK has moved is the privatization of the "Partizani" club.
"Two points should be highlighted, I think, that in relation to Mr. Berisha, SPAK is moving on two issues. One issue is the privatization of the "Partizani" club, in which his responsibility seems to be mainly of the favoritism type, but which is difficult to defend, we are talking about the points of view of proving responsibility directly.
Berisha, if favoritism occurred, it occurred through decisions of the Council of Ministers. However, that issue was opened.
January 21 is one of the most tragic issues that has tarnished Albanian democracy.
We, in the name of national reconciliation, have surpassed the responsibilities of those who made 1997 a great event, who may have been on both sides.
But, the event of January 21 must be revealed, and Mr. Berisha finds this understanding very difficult. He must also overcome what he says, which is saying that it is Mr. Rama who has obstructed justice, that I have requested an international investigation. What international investigation has Mr. Berisha requested? Mr. Berisha must tell the truth before justice. Even if he was not the one who ordered the shooting or enforced the law in this way, he is still charged with serious responsibility for an event like this ," Nazarko said for "TPZ".
