Amidst accusations and suspicions of vote manipulation by Albanian emigrants, DHL has finally broken its silence. The postal company has officially reacted to the way it managed the transportation of ballots for the May 11 elections, denying any involvement in political or financial games. Its reaction is also a response to the CEC, which accused it of breaking the contract with the consent of subcontractors.
In a statement, DHL Albania has “raised its hands”, denying any irregularities. “ DHL Albania, as part of the global DHL network with a presence in more than 220 countries, carried out this complex project in record time, guaranteeing the processing and delivery of election materials with accuracy, security and complete transparency ”, the announcement states.
According to the company, a dedicated aircraft was engaged for this operation and flew every day until the deadline set by the CEC, while the process was supervised in real time by the European Quality Control Center based in Germany.
Regarding the allegations raised by the opposition for non-compliance with the contract and suspicions of interference in some countries, DHL calls these untrue. The company admits that there were challenges, but emphasizes that it faced them with modern infrastructure and professionalism.
" The major challenges – from time constraints to geographical complexity and issues in the quality of available data – were overcome with professionalism, using DHL's advanced technology and infrastructure. The integrity of DHL's service is unquestionable and uncompromising to any interest, financial or political ," it further states.
But despite the company's claims, we all know that many citizens did not receive the envelope on time. Many went to the post office, while others were only given it by the postman and did not go to pick it up.
