Analyst Ergys Mërtiri commented on the violence today in the Assembly, which he called an ugly display by the opposition.
Among other things, Mërtiri addressed the member of the PD leadership, Ivi Kaso, telling him to take the case to court, adding that the only one who is benefiting from this situation is Prime Minister Edi Rama.
This statement was disputed by Kaso, who said that the running of the opposition MPs was symbolic, but degraded into an unpleasant event.
Excerpts from the studio debate:
Mertiri: The fight with the other party is sold on who is stronger. This is a stimulus and makes it trivial and makes the opposition more embarrassing. This serves Rama, Where the opposition does like a child 'I want my toy, I fell and died'. This is the only opposition that wants the language to be a hassle. This is because the opposition is involved in corruption, there is no democracy. This is done under conditions when Berisha is under accusation. It is under investigation for a corruption offense, where the son-in-law is also in prison. Now that he is going to the bars he is starting the revolution. This is beyond ridiculous.
Kaso: This opposition action started with the union of DP deputies. Nicholas and the majority do not have the luxury of voting and overturning the demands of the opposition. Blatantness has reached the point where demands are dropped. What do opposition MPs expect to react? They had decided to go out this way before. Today they continue again with a symbolic action, but that degraded into an unpleasant act.
Mertiri: They themselves say that they are doing it because the mayor wants it. The fight is over who will be in charge of the opposition.
Kaso: No, no! Will you do the battle with me? With windmills?
Mertiri: If you fight for the Constitution, take the case to the Constitutional Court. You are making noise in Parliament. It's been 10 days since what you called 'revolution', why didn't you take it to court? If you don't have lawyers to defend yourself, what can I tell you
Kaso: We not only have lawyers, but we have the best.
Martyr: You are putting on an ugly show, take it to court. You are doing this because you are fighting with Basha. Instead of dealing with the problems of the citizens, you went and did this today. Did the guards remove the cards? You don't have the problems of cyfters... they went for those views, not for political debate. Nikola is right.
Kaso: What is Nikola right about?
Mertiri: This performance serves Rama himself. This is the perfect theater for Rama. With this, he stayed in power for 100 years.
