Artan Hoxha has given details of the serious incident in Dhërmi, where the receptionist Eraldo Nevruzi was killed. The author of the event is suspected to be one of the owners of the hotel, Gerald Shehu.
Invited to the show "Te Paespozuarit", Hoxha said that the victim and the suspected author had talked about doing business together, so the event does not seem to be a momentary conflict.
"The corpse of the deceased has not been found yet. The search was done with a drone from the air. The corpse is thought to be between the villages of Vuno, Gjipe, at the exit of the part of Dhërmi, but there are still doubts.
One of the hotels, which stood out due to its location, Hotel Greccia, the author is co-owner of the hotel together with his mother-in-law. He is an immigrant in England, Gerald Shehu, originally from Tepelena.
The victim is also known, not just a receptionist. Eraldo Nevruzi is suspected of having acquaintances with Shehu and is one of the tracks of the investigation, that they managed the beach bar and the sunbeds together.
After midnight, around 00:30, the author called Eraldo Nevruzi and met him in the room where the hotel staff sleeps. There seems to be something, not a momentary debate. Eraldo Nevruzi went to work around 22:30 and at 00:30, the author Gerald Shehu, went up to the room where the staff sleeps and after an argument, shot him with a gun. It is suspected that he shot himself in the head. He wrapped it in a sheet and put it in the trunk. It is suspected that two people helped him. Then he left for Saranda. It is not known where he threw the corpse, but not far from Dhërmiu.
He parked the Audi type vehicle with English license plates near the port of Saranda. At around 09:00, he passed through Qafë Bote, at the border point, because the police had not yet been notified that there had been a murder.
Later, Gerald Shehu took the ferry at the port of Igoumenica towards Corfu, to flee to England. But the ticket he bought was for Barcelona. He was caught the moment he went to the exit gate, because at that moment the announcement came from Albania. The Greek authorities were notified and asked the airports to verify if he will leave the territory. He is expected to be extradited to Albania.
The area of Dhërmi is one of the main areas of elite tourism, where the most expensive restaurants are located, it has the highest level of security. Youth fights happen, but there are no such incidents. This event is serious, but there are no residents of the area, so that it takes on a different connotation.
When the police went to the hotel, they took all the people they found there, no cartridges were found, but traces of blood. There is a suspicion that the victim was executed. The people who helped him have been found. They have cooperated with the investigation.
The police and the prosecutor's office are working to find the body and secondly to find the motive. Why did he go to this situation? The police say that we have not filed them. The perpetrator and the victim talked about doing business together," said Hoxha, among other things.
