The economic expert, Pano Soko, has analyzed the economic situation in the country, where the European currency and the American dollar have suffered a historic decline against the Lek during the last weeks.
Invited to the "Open" show, Soko explained that before the elections, the last drop was quite significant as the euro lost 7-8 lek in value, which according to him was due to current factors. He cited international organizations, according to which up to 250 million euros are spent on marketing, meetings, and vote buying in the campaign.
On the other hand, the former Deputy Minister of Finance, Elton Haxhi, said that there are figures and statistics that in the last quarter, 330 million euros came to the Albanian economy from tourism and 38 million from fashion, while he considered the statement about the campaign money as "word of mouth". .
Excerpts from the studio conversation:
Soko: In order to explain the situation, we will have to dwell on how the discount from 2013 came for the euro. The drop from 120 to 115 was caused by macroeconomic indicators, where the balance of payments worsened, inflation that increased foreign investments, the issue of increasing private foreign investments in real estate. These have brought the drop from 121 to 117 ALL.
In recent days, it started on May 13, before the elections, with 7-8 ALL. This is a crash, shock shock. This year at the end of the elections were the current factors. The events that took place were the electoral elections, which are a powerful source of money that is thrown into the economy. Investments are made by political parties, marketing, meetings, but also vote buying.
The money distributed to the parties is modest to have this impact. They are also in Lek, about 8 million dollars that go to the parties. International organizations say that up to 250 million euros are thrown into the campaign. These all go to the campaign, to financing and implementation, but also to buying votes.
Haxhi: Let's assume that the figure of 250 million euros was spent for the election. You have 330 million from tourism. 38 million was generated by the fashion industry in this quarter. When we have all these figures with official statistics, and deal with rumors about dirty money. Of course there is, but we have numbers here.
Soko: The exchange rate does not work to come in March and give effect at the end of April. The quarter has given effect in March.
Haxhi: Does this trend continue, sir? You have a higher currency inflow than in the previous year period. The main words are these.
