The grandfather of the 3-year-old who died three days after receiving treatment from a dentist in his private clinic in Tirana, has given a statement to TCh, where he says that they took him to the dentist only to clean his teeth, but after the consultation, the doctor and the girl His parents suggested surgery and his parents agreed.
According to the grandfather's statement, after they gave him a total anesthesia, the boy spent 9 hours in the operation.
"We took him to have his teeth cleaned. We consulted with the doctor and his daughter, where they suggested surgery and we accepted. The boy was put under total anesthesia and put into surgery, where he stayed for 9 hours.
The doctor told us that everything went well. He put us to sleep and told us that he will wake up in half an hour. We went home and after 1 hour the child's temperature rose and he turned yellow. The doctor did not answer the phone. We took him to Pediatrics where they directly intubated him and tore his liver because it had stopped working. He died after 3 days. The state takes control of the situation. Bring justice because otherwise we will take the son's hack", says the grandfather of the 3-year-old.
While the father of the 3-year-old child, Guri Spahiu, has stated to the police that three days ago he took his son for treatment in a private dental clinic on Kavaja street, and the dentist, Roland Xhaxho, gave him total anesthesia to perform the intervention to fix the teeth.
After completing the intervention, the dentist asked him to take the boy from the clinic and take him to the apartment, recommending the medication he should take. After they went to the apartment, the child started to feel bad. Concerned parents called the private clinic but no one answered. Seeing the child's condition that was getting worse, they took him to the pediatric hospital, where, seeing the child's poor condition, they sent him to intensive care. Despite the efforts of the doctors to bring him back to life for two consecutive days, the child died in the hospital.
The parents say that the boy fell into a coma after anesthesia. But the results of the forensic autopsy are awaited, to prove the cause of the death of the 3-year-old child of the Spahiu family.
