The judge of Vlora, Hektor Sinanaj and his family members have been reported to the prosecutor's office in Tirana for the charge of "Concealment of wealth", "Cleaning of the proceeds of a criminal offense" and "Corruption".
In addition to judge Hektor Sinanaj, his wife and son, who is currently studying at the school of magistracy, are also referred to the prosecutor's office.
The report is learned to have been made by the High Inspector of Asset Declaration and Conflict of Interest, as during the verifications carried out by this subject, it turned out that there are data that the judge and his family members have hidden assets.
According to the report of the ILDKPI, the judge of Vlora, through the conflict of interest, has favored several lawyers in Vlora, with whom he has benefited a monetary amount.
The verifications show that Hektor Sinanaj has taken actions that constitute a regular failure to fulfill his duty, in violation of the rules of incompatibility, in the conditions of conflict of interest, as well as in the use of the status of the magistrate in order to create benefits, for others as well as in violation of the principle of guaranteeing public trust in justice.
The ILDKPI claims in its report submitted to the prosecutor's office in Tirana, that the judge owns a building in front of the court in Vlora, the premises of which he had rented to several lawyers, with whom he has conducted court proceedings, in some cases even has mainly appointed, representing various persons in the court session judged by the judge Sinanaj himself.
ILDKPI states that with the same lawyer with whom Judge Sinanaj had a contractual and commercial relationship, he also conducted court proceedings in the Court of Vlora.
Meanwhile, two weeks ago it was the High Inspectorate of Justice, which submitted a report to the High Judicial Council, highlighting the consecutive violations committed by the judge of Vlora Sinanaj, demanding his immediate dismissal.
Before these two institutions took steps with reports to the prosecutor's office and requests for dismissal at the High Court of Justice, the judge of Vlora, Hektor Sinanaj, submitted a request for resignation on January 5, 2024, shortly before facing the vetting process.
