The Tirana Bar Association will have a new leader, after counting the votes of the members of this chamber, who voted for the 8 candidates who were in the race.
At the end of the vote count, Klodjan Skënderaj emerged as the winner. The latter received the support of 569 lawyers out of 774 who participated in the vote. The Tirana Bar Association has 1910 members.
Klodian Skënderaj completed his university studies at the Faculty of Law of the University of Genoa in Italy in 2005, with maximum results of 110/110. He has been practicing law for about 15 years.
In 2014, he completed his doctoral studies in the field of criminal procedure, and since 2016 he has held the title of “Associate Professor”. Since 2008, he has been a lecturer in the subject “Criminal Procedure” at the Faculty of Law at the University of Tirana, and since 2015, he has also been lecturing in the subject “Execution of Criminal Decisions”.
Skënderaj is the author of the monograph “Execution of Criminal Decisions”, a publication used by students and professionals of the justice system. He has also been an expert at the School of Magistrates during the years 2018-2021 in the Continuing Training Program, and has been engaged in various legal projects with a focus on criminal procedure and substantive law.
From September 2020 to September 2024, he was a member of the Academic Senate of the University of Tirana. In addition to his academic activity, Skënderaj is the author of dozens of scientific papers and articles presented at national and international conferences. In his legal profession, he has also represented important high-profile cases.
The Tirana Bar Association has been headed by lawyer Fatmir Brakaj since 2001.
