The head of the Department of Technology and Information, Ervin Muça, has been placed under house arrest and suspended from office after being accused of tampering with the TIMS system of the State Police.
Journalist Eni Ferhati said that Ervin Muça was appointed to this position on June 25 of last year, at the time when the Ministry of the Interior was headed by Bledi Çuçi, based on the law on special services, after he was taken by the police from outside the structure.
Ferhati said that on August 2 of last year, he was among the journalists who received an email from a group of employees of the technology department in the state police, where the director of the state police, the head of SPAK, of AMP were also notified, but and foreign embassies in the country, in connection with an attempt that had started that afternoon and continued with the theft of secret data of the TIMS system.
"Ervin Muça came from a not very positive past regarding his figure; in 2022, he was investigated for another scandal in Taxes related to the leakage of salaries, where his employees had issued them in exchange for payments. At that time he was investigated in a free state.
At midnight on August 2, around 11:00 p.m., I was among the journalists who received an enamel from a group of employees of the technology department of the state police. It was an alert email where the director of the state police, the head of SPAK, the AMP but also the foreign embassies in the country were notified about an attempt that had started that afternoon and continued with the theft of the secret data of the TIMS system. AMP on August 3 started the first investigative actions. These employees of the information technology directorate in the state police should be congratulated as they have not fallen prey to senior leader Ervin Muça," said Ferhati.
