A day after the tragic accident that claimed the lives of two minors in Durrës, the neighbor of the families of the children who lost their lives at the same time and the driver of the van that was taking them to school have recounted the serious incident to the media.
He tearfully stated that he was at the scene of the accident, saying that the driver of the vehicle was suspected of being drunk and had run over the children. He added that he is their neighbor and that he used to take the children to school every day in the van he used to drive.
According to him, everything happened very quickly, while indicating that the ambulance and fire department arrived in the area on time.
"We pulled one of the boys out with 10 people after we lifted the car," he said with tears in his eyes, describing the difficult moments of the event.
Following the serious accident in Durrës where two minor children lost their lives and another was seriously injured, Police Chief Skënder Hita has suspended the director of the Durrës District Police, Afrim Tafa, from duty until the conclusion of the investigations, temporarily replacing him with Ervin Hodaj.
Also for poor performance, Hita has suspended from duty the Deputy Director for Public Order and Security of the Durrës DVP, Chief Commissioner Zija Sulaj, and the Head of the Traffic Police Sector of the Durrës DVP, Chief Commissioner Kreshnik Skëndo.
