Meteorologist Lajda Porja said that we are now officially in the summer period, with June starting with an African heat wave.
She said that temperatures will drop somewhat later in the week, with maximum values reaching 35 degrees, while the weekend, according to her, will be ideal for vacationers who want to go to the beach.
"Summer has started with quite high temperatures. The month of June has started with quite high temperatures of 38 degrees in the first days, this value is expected to be generally recorded in the Berat region, in isolated areas of Elbasan and Gjirokastra. The weather is expected to be clear, while in the second part of the day there may be clouds.
From Tuesday of this week we expect temperatures to gradually decrease and we expect them to normalize. Tomorrow there will be a drop in temperatures where the maximum will be 36 degrees, while in the remaining days until the weekend, the maximum temperature will be 35 degrees.
The weather will be stable in most of the country. Tuesday and Wednesday may bring isolated rain showers in the northeast and southeast, mostly in the southeast area, in the areas of Korça.
"The weekend will be sunny again, with temperatures of 33-34 degrees Celsius," Porja told "Euronews Albania".
