Former prosecutor Shkëlqim Hajdari commented on the visit of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to Tirana this week.
In an interview for "Euronews Albania", he said that Blinken comes to thank the position of the Republic of Albania in the entire international agenda and its positioning.
Regarding the meeting with the head of SPAK Altin Dumani, Hajdari said that it is the first time that an American Secretary of State meets the head of a law enforcement agency.
"Based on the agenda of the secretary of state, the meeting with the prime minister is comprehensive. Albania has long been placed on the Euro-Atlantic axis, pro-West in the war in Ukraine. In this sense, Blinken comes to thank the attitude of the Republic of Albania in the entire international agenda and its positioning. Of course, he comes to thank and support from the point of view of the gestures of support of the Afghans.
It also comes to the events related to the Balkans, where Albania has been the main pro-Western player between the West and Russia. If it is true that Blinken will meet with Duman, this is special because it is the first time that the secretary of state has met with a law enforcement agency. Based on this particularity, I think that SPAK remains the most reliable and independent institution in Albania that has undertaken to fulfill its legal obligations", said the former prosecutor.
