"There was pressure from the EU", Bushati: Rama was forced to choose

Analyst Andi Bushati stated that the importance of the Berlin Process Summit that will take place on Monday in Tirana is more symbolic than substantive.

In an interview for 'MCN Tv', he further explained that there was pressure on Rama to give up the "Open Balkans" so that he could receive the "symbolic crown" from the EU.

" The importance is more symbolic, it is not in the content, but in the exterior. The fact that a meeting of the Berlin Process takes place outside the EU countries and is moved to one of the countries of the Western Balkans is of symbolic importance that we will hear endlessly trumpeted by government propaganda these days. The essential importance of what is being done in Tirana is that the relocation of the Berlin Summit to Tirana coincided with the withdrawal of our prime minister from the Open Balkans. It seems that we had some kind of pressure or pressure that if you want this 'symbolic crown' on your shoulders, you have to give up the joint adventure with President Vucic. Shortly after Albania was announced as the host of this Summit, Rama came out of Montenegro and said that the Open Balkans has completed its mission. Both initiatives have run parallel. But Germany was interested in winning the Berlin Summit. For those who think that the Open Balkans was a bad adventure, this Monday will be a good initiative ", he said.

Bushati further said that the attack in Banjska has disrupted the West's plans to support Vucic and Serbia in the dialogue, although he added that there should be no hope for sanctions against Serbia.

" The countries of the EU are still traumatized by what happened in Banjska and by the terrorist attack there and if you see if we had a shift of the western axis to support Vučić and Serbia in dialogue with Kosovo, Berlin, Paris, even Washington, which won't be Monday because they wanted to favor Serbia, Banjska caught them off guard and are wavering, should Serbia be sanctioned? What attitude should be taken from now on? This confusion, or the determination of policies, will be reflected on Monday. We should not hope what they hope in Pristina, that we can have the beginning of the road to sanctions against Serbia ", said Bushati.
