The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, during his last report to the Assembly yesterday, once again asked lawmakers to extend the mandate of special prosecutors.
For lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu, SPAK is showing naivety with such a request, as according to him, they are asking those investigating to extend their mandate.
"It is surprising and completely naive in terms of professionalism that SPAK yesterday in the Albanian Parliament asked political leaders, those politicians it is investigating, those politicians it has in criminal proceedings, those politicians it has under indictment, to request an extension of its mandate. First of all, it is in a pure conflict of interest, which means that this political class, which is under indictment, under arrest, in judicial processes, cannot extend the mandates of those prosecutors who have discovered the facts, who are investigating their cases, not everyone would do it ," Spahiu said on Report TV.
