Criminology professor Ervin Karamuço said on the Now show on Euronews Albania that there could be even more candidates in the race for the head of SPAK after 3 of them withdrew from the candidacy.
According to him, organized crime "will work to influence the election of the new head of SPAK, for various preferences."
" All four of them have a very competitive profile. We have not had such a competition with such competitiveness. It will be difficult for the KLP as well. I do not know how the votes will be divided there. The preferences could be with many candidates. There could have been three other candidates who wanted to participate. One withdrew, but made way for his collaborator. Another wanted to run to appear important. There was another one. There could have been 7, but there are four and it is very good that they have these skills. We have the opportunity to boast about the four of them.
So, it means that SPAK has extraordinary elements within itself, which are a model, a raised bar, a standard that can leave a good legacy.
Organized crime will work to influence the election of the new head of SPAK, for various preferences. They will aim to smear them, intimidate them, blackmail them, and why not – someone may even withdraw along the way and say: “I got tired”, as has happened in other cases, who have been ready to withdraw and have said: “What is this great pressure? After all, what will I do? I will be the first among equals ”, said Karamuço.
