Two officers in Rinas were filmed taking money, suspended from duty

Two police officers in Rinas have been suspended from duty. It was the show 'Fiks Fare' that showed how they were taking money and the police reacted by announcing that they have been suspended.

" Regarding the case broadcast on the investigative show "Fiks Fare", where two Border Police employees, at the Rinas Border Police Commissariat, are suspected of being involved in corrupt acts, we would like to inform you that:

The Directorate of Professional Standards, by order of the General Director of the State Police, in accordance with article 163, point 3 letter a and point 8 of the State Police Regulation, has immediately suspended from duty the Police employees, Inspector KK, with the duty of assistant control specialist, and Inspector EL, with the duty of assistant control specialist, against whom a disciplinary investigation has been initiated for serious violations.

Meanwhile, following the actions taken in this case, the Police Supervision Agency has immediately launched a criminal investigation against the police officers involved in this case ," the police said.

On September 23, an investigation was broadcast on how a police officer, named Briken Tereziu, was reinstated despite having been arrested, investigated, and being tried for dozens of cases of abuse of office.

In the Tirana Prosecutor's Office file, it was found that Tereziu and several of his colleagues had bribed as many as 65 people, even minors without a parent's power of attorney. Although the case is in court and Briken Tereziu is accused of passive corruption and abuse of office, he has surprisingly returned to work.

Meanwhile, after the publication of this case, the editorial office of the investigative show received information that other employees were also engaged in the same activity. A Fiks Fare associate met another employee, who introduced himself as Kevin Kosova.

The first meeting takes place in a bar in Tirana, as Fiksi's co-worker tells him that he has to move. Kevin takes a photo of his passport and tells him to wait for the ticket. He calls another person, saying, "Dude, look at this I brought you." The co-worker tells him that he only has problems with deadlines, while the employee tells him, "Don't worry about deadlines."

From the conversation it emerges that the policeman and Fiksi's accomplice have met several other times, in Rinas, in another suspicious episode. "I just broke the euros and a guy told me to talk to these (policemen) once," the accomplice says of the time they met.

At the end of the first meeting, the associate tells the policeman that he has a friend who has been deported for 10 years. "They've told him not to leave Albania for 3 years," he says, while the policeman tells him, "bring me your passport with a photo so we can fix it, we'll see what happens." The associate tells him that he will, but he is being deported by the court. "It's nothing, we'll fix it," he replies.

The second meeting takes place again in the same environment, in the city of Tirana. The co-worker tells him that he will be moving tomorrow and asks what shift it is. The policeman replies that it is the third shift and he himself will be leaving at 5 pm. The policeman tells him that he will take him so that he does not get confused.

The co-worker tells him that he doesn't have much (money) today, as he takes out 100 thousand old lek and asks if it's enough? The policeman replies that it's "enough." He asks him several times if it's enough, and he replies that it is!

Then, the policeman shows him a photo with the numbers of the counters, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 … “I’ll leave it at 1 so you can easily find it. I’ll take you back with the photo and I’ll also tell you the name of the person you’re looking for,” the policeman tells him. The associate asks him again, as he replies that “I’ll take you back with the photo, I’ll tell you to meet so-and-so. You go there and tell him I love Eraldi, I love … so-and-so.” The associate replies that they shouldn’t bother him, while he says no.

Then, Fiks Fare's associate tells him about that friend with 10 years of deportation, while the policeman replies that he brings me his passport and we'll fix it. He tells him that he's leaving tomorrow and asks what the policeman's name was. "I'll tell you, leave," he replies.

The next day, the associate goes to Rinas, while chatting with the police officer on the social network WhatsApp. The police officer first sends him a photo. In the photo, he sketches the counters and tells him that “at number 6 (counter) you will meet Amarildo”. Then the associate tells him that the time is at 19.40, while the police officer writes to him that “now the shift changes, I will take him back”. Later, he writes to him “but at that counter, at 6, that is, ask for Edin”.

The citizen presents himself at the Police counters at Rinas Airport and counts the counters. At counter number 6 he meets Edin, who was talking on the phone and surprisingly there was no queue like the others. After a few seconds, he passes the police without any problems, boards the plane and arrives at his destination.
