One or more people have entered one of the apartments of the judge of Durrës, Shpëtime Pitaku, stealing 2 thousand euros and some jewelry.
The Durrës judge seems to have been the target of thieves not by chance. Apart from others, Shpëtime Pitaku has stated that he also owns 7 real estates, from which he earns tens of thousands of euros a year, after renting them out. The judge of Durrës declares a dental clinic, which she rented out. Pitaku also declares 5 premises, which he has also rented out. Just from a bar with wooden construction, he declares over 9,000 euros per year in rental income. Another bar is located in front of the Court of Durrës.
Mrs. Pitaku claims that she also received a loan in the amount of 60,000 euros for the purchase of a house with an area of 135 m2. In November 2015, the High Inspectorate of Assets Declaration and Control charged the Prosecutor with the judge Shpëtime Pitaku, for concealment of assets and suspicion of money laundering. Pitaku was accused of hiding about 1 million dollars of assets, through the falsification of documents. ILDKPKI said at that time that it had carried out a full control of the declared assets of Judge Pitaku.
"At the end of the full check, the concealment of assets, false declarations of private interests, falsification of documents, lack of legal financial sources and suspicions of money laundering in the amount of about 1 million USD were found, and therefore the entity Shpëtime Pitaku has been criminally charged for criminal offenses provided by articles 257/a/2 and 287 of the Criminal Code", announced ILDKP.
