The head of the ILD, Artur Metani, says that the ILD has never had any investigation into GJKKO judge Irena Gjoka. Metani's stance came in the Laws Committee after accusations by Sali Berisha and the opposition against judge Gjoka, who accuse her of being convicted by Greece for falsifying documents, but hiding the conviction.
It was the member of the Laws Committee, PL MP Tedi Blushi, who asked Metani whether the ILD has initiated disciplinary proceedings against judge Irena Gjoka for concealing the sentence in the neighboring country of Greece. Metani said that judge Irena Gjoka has never been inspected by the ILD.
"Irena Gjoka has never been inspected by the ILD. I have never said this. I will complete all investigations on time. We have not launched any investigation into her. In coordination with other institutions related to decriminalization, we are awaiting facts about any possible violations," said Metani.
As for Blushi's question about whether there are complaints about SPAK prosecutors and GJKKO judges, Metani said he would not give names.
"I'm not giving names. We preserve the image of judges and prosecutors," he said.
Irena Gjoka is the judge of the preliminary investigation for the Partizani affair, where the defendants are Sali Berisha and his son-in-law. She is often the target of attacks from Berisha, who accuses her of being a fraud. Meanwhile, after being elected the judge of the preliminary session for the Meta file, judge Gjoka was also attacked by the Freedom Party.
