Monday's protest marked the 15th day of mobilization and stood out from previous rallies due to the route taken by the protesters. The crowd headed towards Tirana International Airport in Rinas, while the Tirana-Durres highway was blocked for several hours.
Near Rinas, the protesters were stopped by police forces, preventing them from continuing their march. The situation led to heavy traffic and kilometer-long columns of vehicles on one of the country's main axes.
