The Constitutional Court has rejected the Democratic Party's request to repeal the amendments to the Law on Protected Areas. This decision now paves the way for the concreting of Protected Areas.
We recall that the lawsuit was filed by MP Ina Zhupa with the signature of the Democratic legislator on November 1 of last year. The opposition raised claims that this law puts the status of these areas at risk, by allowing construction by strategic investors.
The Socialist Party (SP) passed the law in Parliament on February 22, 2024, amidst opposition chaos. The law stipulates that in some of the territories classified as Protected Areas, accommodation structures can be built for the purpose of developing tourism or agrotourism.
