The Special Prosecution Office closed the investigations into the CEZ-DIA affair and the SMI lobbying scandal in the United States of America. The prosecution has also named Monika Kryemadhi's mother, Ema Çoku, and Pirro Xhixho as defendants.
The couple, now legally divorced, are accused of having used their power to illegally acquire wealth over the years.
This new development was commented on by lawyer Edmond Petraj, who was invited to "Tirana Live" on ABC News.
He emphasized that we are not dealing with a final conclusion, but that the process is currently at the communication of the indictment.
"The conclusion of CEZ-DIA is a new development. I see the file as remaining on technicalities. It is not the final conclusion, we currently have a communication of accusation, but not that the file is finished. The file will go to the preliminary judge and the battle and the field is open and it remains to be seen," he said.
