In a rare confession, Kozeta Mamaqi has shared her pain over the loss of her son, Sokol Olldashi, in November 2013, bringing back memories that remain vivid and impossible to forget.
In the podcast "Pa complexe me Elioni", in collaboration with DritareTV, she recalls the last moment with her son as a wound that never closes.
" It was horrible. I walked him to the door that day. He gave me that usual kiss on the forehead. And he left and never came back, " she says, adding that even today she finds it difficult to accept reality.
" I still can't believe it today. How is that possible? How is that possible? It was 6 pm when he left. It was a horror ," she says.
His loss hit her so hard that for a long time she completely withdrew from social life.
" I haven't left the house for two and a half years. My soul has dried up. I have no more motivation ," says Mamaqi, showing the huge void left behind by this tragedy.
In her memoirs, Sokol Olldashi remains a sensitive and profound soul. She describes him as a man who was easily touched and who had a rich spiritual world.
" That was Koli's soul. He cried with tears when I read them. He was a very delicate soul ," she says.
According to her, he was passionate about literature and art: "Koli read a lot, translated, loved poets, loved singers... he was very sensitive."
Despite the pain it carries, a mother's love remains eternal and unconditional.
If she had a moment to say something to her son, her words are simple, but filled with feeling: " I would say: sweetheart, I love you so much, I love you endlessly ."
