An employee of the Fier Police has been suspended from duty.
He allegedly took money from drivers to avoid fines when they violate traffic rules.
"The Police Surveillance Agency (Fier-Berat Region), after an investigation followed with special investigation methods, has implemented the Prosecution Order for the execution of the decision of the Court of First Instance of Fier General Jurisdiction, which decided the measure of personal insurance with a coercive character "Prohibition of going abroad and the measure of personal insurance with a prohibitive character "Suspension of the exercise of a duty or public service" against the police officer Inspector RA, with the duty of the Urban and Interurban Traffic Service in the Traffic Section Ubran and Interurban near DVP Fier, suspected of the criminal offense "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions".
The Court's decision came as a result of the Criminal Procedure of 2024, investigated for the criminal offenses "Active corruption of persons exercising public functions", "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions" and "Abuse of office".
From the investigation carried out by AMP, it was documented with evidence that the police officer, Inspector RA, during the performance of his functional duty, committed corrupt actions with vehicle drivers by not punishing them with administrative measures", the announcement states.
