Instead of receiving treatment and care, a child admitted to the Pediatric Hospital of the QSUT is forced to cool himself with a portable ventilator. This is the shocking reality that journalist Osman Stafa has documented in a Facebook post, exposing the extreme lack of conditions in one of the country's largest hospitals.
Temperatures above 38°C and overcrowded environments, without proper ventilation and airing, are turning into torture for patients, especially for children and the mothers who stay with them. Instead of care, hospitals offer suffering and humiliation.
" It's a shame. It's a failure. It's violence against our children ," writes journalist Stafa, raising a public alarm over the catastrophic state of hospital infrastructure. He directly accuses politicians who appear with smiles and red carpets in front of hospitals, but leave parents to make their children's ventilators by hand.
Instead of real investments, propaganda and facades. Instead of services, concrete and show. If a mother has to hold a hand-held ventilator to cool her child in 2025, then the Albanian healthcare system is in agony.

At the QSUT, the mother becomes a ventilator for her child
In a place where we should be cured, we end up suffering even more. These photos were taken at the Pediatric Hospital.
The hospital does not even offer the bare minimum: coolness in temperatures that exceed 36°C. It is a shame. It is a failure. It is violence against our children and women who are confined to overcrowded, hot, and unstable hospitals.
Where are the millions for healthcare? Where are the investments to improve hospital infrastructure? If a parent is forced to carry a portable ventilator in their hand, then the healthcare system is effectively in a coma. This is not just an appeal.
It is an alarm that should wake up all those who do politics with health, who are photographed with red carpets in front of hospitals, and instead of fixing any problems, they deal with facade and propaganda.
